COICA will make it easier than it already is to shut down sites like Wikileaks
We already have laws in place to deal with infringing content, so don't
buy the excuse that this law is about stopping infringement. This law
takes down entire websites based on the government's say-so.

I am very disappointed that Senators Klobuchar and Franken were among the 19 senators voting in favor of the COICA bill (Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act) when it came before the Senate Judiciary Committee. I'm especially disappointed in Senator Franken who has said so much in favor of Net Neutrality. A neutral net won't be of much use if the government can easily censor content. (Senator Franken's expanation of his vote here. I still don't buy the need especially in light of how easily the US government took down sites without COICA. See Who Needs COICA When Homeland Security Gets To Seize Domain Names?)

Also see Bob Collins' post at News Cut. Some good quotes and links.
